The Clash 1982-08-16 Detroit, MI Grand Circus Theater Recording of unknown lineage. Normal bias Cassettes > Technics cassette deck > ProTools (EQ/Volume/Widen) > SoundForge (split, Flac). Sound quality is average or less for a Clash recording. I'd rate it a C/C-. The music is ok and fairly listenable but the vocals and between-song banter aren't clear. The applause between songs is loud and close and there's come clipping at times. Based on the splits it appears to have been recorded on 2-60 minute cassettes. There is some horrible noise at the very end of Clampdown, but it's mostly just over the applause before the 2nd encore, so I faded most of it out. There is a version of this show on YouTube but it's definitely from a different source, though the quality is similar or maybe slightly better on that one. That one also says it's missing a couple songs and this one seems to be complete. The missing songs on that one weren't noted. I didn't see any other trace of this show anywhere, and I don't recall seeing it back in the trading days as I'd likely have jumped on it, so I'm not sure if it's circulated much. Thanks to the taper, whoever they were.
